FABIO SPITERI COMPLETES BRUTAL 76KM SWIM IN ULTRA-TRIATHLON CHALLENGE

Maltese ultra-endurance athlete Fabio Spiteri has completed a gruelling 76km swim as part of an ongoing ultra-triathlon, finishing third out of the water behind Jurand Czabański and Beto Stael.
Sharing an update on social media, Spiteri described the effort as extremely demanding, saying: “76km in 42hrs. That was tough. Huge pain in shoulders.” Despite the physical strain, he remained among the leading competitors after the swim segment.
The challenge forms part of a multi-day ultra-triathlon that pushes athletes through continuous long-distance swimming, cycling, and running with minimal recovery time. Competitors must endure extreme physical and mental pressure as they move from one discipline to the next.
Following the swim, Spiteri planned a short three-hour rest period before immediately transitioning to the cycling stage of the race. His performance so far keeps him in contention in one of the most demanding endurance formats in sport.
The Maltese athlete continues to showcase resilience and determination as he progresses throu gh the next phases of the competition.
