€9 Million Marsa Sports Complex Officially Completed

All works on the Marsa Sports Complex have been completed with the inauguration of the third and final phase of the project. During a ceremony held this evening, Prime Minister Robert Abela stated that the complex confirms the Government’s continued investment in sport, in athletes, and in the future of sport in Malta. With an investment of €9 million, the entire project has now been officially completed.
The complex consists of three floors of sports and ancillary facilities, offering top‑level infrastructure. The final phase included new squash and netball courts, among other upgrades. Dr Abela noted that these facilities provide sporting communities with a modern, professional, and accessible environment that strengthens training, competition, and athlete development at every stage of their careers.
He added that such investment will continue to place Malta on the global map of international competitions, noting that next year Malta will host the Youth Commonwealth Games with participation from 74 countries.
Education and Sport Minister Clifton Grima highlighted years of work in the sector, emphasising that recent and ongoing investment is helping Malta achieve a significant leap in sports quality.
