Eight Teams To Battle For ISFA 3-a-Side Tournament Glory In Buġibba

The International Street Football Association (ISFA) will be organising a 3-a-side tournament on the 6th of June at the 3-a-side football ground in Buġibba.

The tournament was officially launched during a press conference held last Saturday at a venue in Birkirkara.

During the conference, International Street Football Association Director Maria Coppola highlighted the importance of initiatives such as this one in continuing to promote this style of football, which encourages creativity while providing new opportunities for players. She was joined by tournament ambassador James Almeida, who praised the ever-improving standard of the competition.

Players Nigel Zammit, Omar Lamari and Ananel Sheiji were also present. Among others, they have their own team participating in the competition and shared their enthusiasm for the upcoming event.

Eight teams will take part in the tournament: Eagles United, Santa Margherita AFC, Blancos FC, Bugibba FC, Birkirkara AFC, Shooting Stars FC, FC Nova Legends and FC Nova Legends B.

The competition format consists of two groups of four teams, with each side playing three matches of ten minutes each. The teams that accumulate the most points in each group will progress to the final.

The significance of the tournament goes beyond simply lifting a trophy, as the winning team will earn the right to represent Malta at the ISFA World Cup, which will be held in the Netherlands between September 2 and September 7
