Edgar Degabriele Reflects On Gammari Muscat Cup Final Vs Sliema

Birżebbuġa St Peter's FC head coach Edgar Degabriele reflected on his team's performance and outcome of the Gammari Cup final vs Sliema Wanderers played at Mosta ground yesterday evening, with Sliema ultimately clinching the cup.

Degabriele said that the game was hard fought from both ends. He remarked that while Sliema had the better moments during the game, the chances to win the game were in his side's favour, yet believed that the team was careless in the final third.

Regarding the opening match against Floriana, Degabriele argued that the team needs to approach the game with humility given that they are facing the champions and given that the greens are very prepared ahead of the new season.

He thanked the fans for their unwavering support and loyalty towards the team, showing a big heart in good and bad times, while encouraging them to stay behind the team ahead of this long journey.

He remarked that with the team Birżebbuġa has, together with the performances the team has displayed, it looks like the club can compete against any opponent to achieve survival.
