Easter Competitions Gather Pace as Teams March Into Next Round

The Easter competitions organised by the Malta Blackball Federation continued to build momentum in recent days, with several teams confirming their place in the next round across the Regional and Community Easter Trophy events.

In the Regional Easter Trophy, Żebbuġ St Joseph were pushed to their limits in a tightly contested clash against Domus Kids Żejtun A, eventually emerging 23–20 winners after a determined performance.

Action was equally intense in the Community Easter Trophy, where a series of decisive results saw Birżebbuġa St Peter's A, Ħamrun 147 D, Selmun Sports Club C, San Ġwann Tiki Taka Buddies, Birkirkara Boċċi, Birkirkara Juve, PL Floriana and Siġġiewi Montekristo C all secure progression. Among the standout results, Birżebbuġa St Peter's A defeated Cospicua Rangers 21–16, while Ħamrun 147 D claimed a commanding 21–11 derby win over Ħamrun 1889 Bar.

Other tightly fought encounters included Birkirkara Juve’s narrow 21–19 victory over Selmun Sports Club B and Siġġiewi Montekristo C’s 21–18 win against Birżebbuġa St Peter's B. Birkirkara Boċċi and PL Floriana also advanced with confident wins.

Attention now turns to the National Easter Trophy, which begins on 6 March and will feature Malta’s top Blackball teams competing for one of the federation’s most prestigious honours.
