The EAP Malta International 2026 has once again reinforced its position as Malta’s premier international athletics meeting, delivering a record-breaking edition that showcased elite performances, unprecedented international participation, and exceptional organisational standards despite challenging weather conditions.

Part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger circuit and firmly established on the World Athletics global calendar, the meeting attracted athletes seeking valuable ranking points that contribute towards qualification for major international championships. This year’s event welcomed competitors from a record 37 countries spanning all continents, highlighting Malta’s growing reputation as a trusted host of world-ranking athletics competitions.

The half-day programme featured a strong mix of emerging youth talent and established international athletes, producing several notable achievements. The meeting amassed 72,886 ranking points and is currently ranked 259th on the 2026 World Athletics Meetings Ranking List. Performances included four meeting records, two youth meeting records, one EAP Future (U16) record, one local and one foreign national record, as well as an U16 national record.

The continued growth of the EAP Malta International reflects the dedication of organisers, officials, volunteers, coaches, parents, athletes, sponsors, and media partners. Special thanks were extended to SportMalta and the Malta Tourism Authority for their ongoing support.
