The 47th Rolex Middle Sea Race continues to deliver thrilling action as more yachts complete the demanding 606-nautical-mile course, with challenging conditions persisting south of Sicily.

Italian yacht Django 7X emerged victorious from an intense battle with Balthasar, crossing the finish line in Marsamxett Harbour 39 minutes ahead of its rival.

The two yachts remained closely matched throughout the race, but stronger winds near Favignana favoured Django 7X, allowing the Italian crew to secure victory in IRC 1 and provisionally lead the overall standings on corrected time.

Meanwhile, French yacht Daguet 5 moved into the provisional lead in IRC 2, ahead of Artemis Bleu and Wild Joe.

Maltese crews are also making their presence felt. Artie III, skippered by Lee Satariano and Christian Ripard, leads IRC 3 on the water and corrected time, with Zephyr and Mia Gioia chasing closely.

In IRC 4, Jonathan Gambin's Ton Ton Laferla maintains its advantage over Elusive 2.

Elsewhere, Courrier Pogo leads IRC 5, while Colombre heads IRC 6.

With several yachts still racing and changing weather conditions expected, the battle for overall honours remains wide open as competitors continue their journey towards Malta.
