Django 7x crowned overall winner of 47th Rolex Middle Sea Race

Giovanni Lombardi Stronati's Django 7x has been crowned overall winner of the 47th Rolex Middle Sea Race following an outstanding performance over the challenging 606-nautical-mile course.
The Royal Malta Yacht Club confirmed on Wednesday that no remaining competitors could improve on the Italian yacht's IRC-corrected time, securing one of offshore sailing's most prestigious honours.
Django 7x emerged victorious following an intense battle with defending champion Balthasar, crossing the finish line 39 minutes ahead of its rival.
Meanwhile, Maltese crews enjoyed considerable success across several divisions.
Lee Satariano's Artie III, co-skippered by Christian Ripard, claimed victory in IRC 3 and finished as the first Maltese yacht.
The Podesta family's Elusive 2 also celebrated success, overcoming Jonathan Gambin's Ton Ton Laferla in a thrilling IRC 4 contest.
Elsewhere, Courrier Pogo secured IRC 5 honours, while Italian yacht Colombre completed a double triumph in IRC 6 and the Double-Handed division.
Calamity claimed multihull honours, while Stella Nova emerged victorious in Class40.
By Wednesday evening, 65 yachts had completed the demanding course, with 28 still racing and 14 having retired.
The prestigious event once again showcased exceptional sailing talent, determination and endurance in Mediterranean waters.
