Disciplinary Commissioner Issues Sanctions Following Żabbar–Naxxar U17 League Clash

The Malta FA’s Disciplinary Commissioner has issued a series of sanctions following incidents that occurred during the BNF U17 League B Top Six match between Żabbar St Patrick and Naxxar Lions, played on Sunday 15 March 2026 at the Dingli Ground. The decisions were published in the official report dated 17 March.

Żabbar St Patrick player Jaden Buckland received the heaviest punishment, handed a one‑year suspension.

On the Naxxar Lions side, Hani Ezzedden Saih was given a three‑match suspension, while Jake Pace received a fine. Club official Ettienne Vella was also sanctioned with a financial penalty.

All decisions remain subject to appeal.

In its statement, the Malta FA strongly condemned any form of violence, altercation or unsporting behaviour, stressing that such actions undermine the core values of football. The Association reiterated its commitment to promoting respect, discipline and fair play across all levels of the game, particularly within youth competitions.
