Denzel Falzon and Rylee Borg Honoured with Atlas Youth Athlete Awards

Denzel Falzon and Rylee Borg have been named recipients of the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for September, in recognition of their remarkable achievements on the international sporting stage.

The awards, presented in collaboration with the Malta Sports Journalists Association, celebrate the exceptional performances of Malta’s emerging sporting talents.

Falzon enjoyed another memorable triumph after being crowned Under-18 Singles World Champion at the 2026 World Eightball Pool Championships in Marrakech, Morocco. The achievement represents his third world title, having previously secured two championships as part of Malta’s Under-18 team.

Meanwhile, Borg delivered an impressive performance at the European Union Weightlifting Championship in Bobrov, Slovakia, finishing first overall. He successfully completed all six lifts, recording 127kg in the snatch and 169kg in the clean and jerk, for a combined total of 296kg.

As Borg is currently overseas, his award will be presented upon his return to Malta.
