David Borg to Lead Malta at 2026 World University Cross Country

The Malta University Sport Association (MUSA) has confirmed that distance runner David Borg will represent Malta and the University of Malta at the 2026 FISU World University Championship Cross Country in Cassino. The event, scheduled for March 2026, brings together top university athletes from around the world to compete in one of the most demanding endurance disciplines.

Borg, recognised as one of Malta’s strongest long‑distance athletes, has earned his place through consistent performances and unwavering commitment to the sport. His participation highlights MUSA’s confidence in his ability to compete against elite international opposition.

The Cassino course is expected to challenge runners with varied and testing terrain, demanding tactical awareness, stamina, and mental resilience. For Malta, this championship offers valuable international exposure and strengthens the country’s presence in global university sport.
