David Azzopardi Elected Deputy President of Maltese Olympic Committee

David Azzopardi has been elected Deputy President of the Maltese Olympic Committee after an Extraordinary General Meeting involving the organisation’s affiliated federations. The election, held in full accordance with the Committee’s Statute and Electoral Regulations, featured three candidates: David Azzopardi, Dr Kirill Micallef Stafrace and Dr John Vella.
Azzopardi secured 35 votes, earning the position for the remainder of the current Olympic quadrennial. Dr Micallef Stafrace received 25 votes, while Dr Vella collected six votes.
The Maltese Olympic Committee expressed gratitude to all candidates, acknowledging their commitment to Maltese sport and their readiness to contribute time and expertise to the nation’s sporting development. The organisation emphasised that such participation strengthens the Olympic movement in Malta and supports ongoing efforts to enhance athlete pathways and federation collaboration.
