Darren Abdilla Named VBET Coach of the Month for January 2026

Gżira United head coach Darren Abdilla has been named VBET Coach of the Month for January 2026, marking his second consecutive monthly award.

Abdilla earned the recognition after guiding the Maroons to an impressive start to the Closing Round, securing three straight victories. The run included emphatic wins over Marsaxlokk and Birkirkara — both of whom competed in the Top 6 during the Opening Round, unlike Gżira.

The strong performances have underlined Gżira’s intent in the second phase of the season, with Abdilla’s tactical leadership playing a key role in the team’s momentum.

The January Coach of the Month trophy was presented to Abdilla by Adam Calleja, Business Development Director at SoftConstruct Malta.

The back-to-back accolade further highlights the impact Abdilla continues to make at the helm of Gżira United.
