Colette Sultana Makes History With Third European ETC3 Title

Colette Sultana has etched her name into European squash history after becoming the first female player ever to win three ETC3 titles, a landmark achievement that cements her status as one of Malta’s most accomplished athletes.
Malta’s top-ranked player, who recently returned home and now trains and coaches at Marsa Sports Club, played a pivotal role in guiding the national team to victory at the European Team Division 3 Championships held in Luxembourg last week. Alongside teammates Lijana Sultana, Jocelyn Lydall, Amke Fischer and Mattea Saliba, the Maltese squad delivered a flawless campaign, winning all their ties against Croatia, Greece, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Luxembourg and Austria.
For Colette, this triumph adds to her previous ETC3 titles won in 2014 and 2017, making her the first woman to lift the trophy three times—a remarkable testament to her longevity, consistency and elite competitive level.
Her return to Malta has already had a positive impact on the local squash community, both through her performances and her growing role as a coach. This latest milestone not only celebrates her individual excellence but also highlights the collective strength and rising ambition of Malta’s national team.
