An exceptional display of solidarity at the National Pool last weekend has earned praise from the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta (ASA).

When an elderly individual required urgent assistance, San Ġiljan ASC coach Miguel Pace immediately stepped forward to help, demonstrating compassion and responsibility.

Meanwhile, Neptunes WPSC coaches Martina Valletta, Harrison Stevens, Luis Frank Belandria and Luis Belandria promptly took charge of the San Ġiljan players, ensuring their safety and supervision throughout the incident.

The ASA expressed particular satisfaction that the elderly individual is recovering well.

In publicly commending those involved, the association highlighted how sporting values extend far beyond competition, club loyalties and rivalries.

The incident served as a reminder that mutual respect, compassion and teamwork remain fundamental to the aquatic sporting community.

The ASA extended its sincere gratitude to both clubs' coaching staff, describing their actions as an exemplary demonstration of solidarity and the true spirit of sport.
