Clint Vassallo Opens FEGAT Campaign with Brilliant Win for Malta

Malta’s amateur driver Clint Vassallo delivered a standout performance at the 2026 FEGAT European Championship in Austria, beginning his campaign with a superb victory aboard Velvet Vinus. After holding a strong position throughout the opening race, Vassallo timed his attack perfectly, producing a powerful final sprint to secure an impressive win for Malta.

His momentum was halted in the second race when a puncture forced him to finish last. Vassallo recovered to place 7th in the third race, keeping close to the chasing group, before ending the final leg in 10th, having lost ground early and unable to mount a challenge for the top positions.

Across the four races, Vassallo collected 24 points, placing him 10th overall in the general standings. The championship podium featured Vermund Madsen Drolsum (Norway) in first place, followed by Michael Hamann (Germany) and Attila Kurucz (Hungary).

A commendable outing for both Vassallo and the Malta Racing Club, with the highlight unquestionably being his opening‑race triumph on Velvet Vinus.
