Clifton Grima Visits San Ġwann Football Ground In View Of Ambitious Project

The Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima, visited the football ground in San Ġwann, where plans were outlined for the modernization of this facility, a project that will continue to improve the quality of sports infrastructure in the area.
The project involves the full modernization of the facility, covering approximately 4,500 square metres, with a focus on providing an adequate space where children, youth, and the wider community can practice sports under quality conditions.
Works will include replacing the existing perimeter fencing to increase safety and control of the facility, as well as installing new synthetic turf to replace the current surface.
The project is part of a wider vision to strengthen investment in modern infrastructure that supports an active and healthy lifestyle. Similar projects are also planned in several localities, including Fgura, Dingli, Kirkop, and Santa Luċija, which are currently in the public procurement stage.
Reflecting on the project, Minister Grima stated that “when we invest in sports facilities, we are directly investing in the health, discipline, and future of our young people. This project in San Ġwann is a clear example of our commitment to providing modern and accessible spaces where the entire community can participate in sport and lead a more active life.”
Also present during the visit was the Mayor of San Ġwann, Dominic Cassar, who emphasized the importance of this investment for the local community and thanked all entities involved for their collaboration in continuing to strengthen the sports sector in the locality.
