Champion Of Malta Knockout Stage Gets Underway Today

Yesterday saw the final day of matches from the group stage of the “Champion of Malta” Blackball competition, with the players progressing to the knockout stage now decided.

Today, the competition continues with the Pre-Last 16 Playoff, followed by the Last 16. In this stage, players who finished second in their respective groups face players who finished third, while the group winners have already secured their place in the Last 16.

Among the players who progressed to the knockout stages are Mervick Zammit, Miguel Mizzi, Ryan Pisani, Clayton Castaldi, Jason Mangion, Clint Azzopardi and Johan Attard, who won all their matches in their respective groups and therefore finished with a maximum of 12 points.

From this stage onwards, every match is a direct knockout encounter, with defeat meaning elimination. The matches today are therefore expected to be highly competitive as the battle for the Champion of Malta trophy gets underway.

The final will be played on Tuesday 15 September, starting at 7:00pm, and will be broadcast live on TVM Sport+.
