CASSAR AND CHETCUTI SECURE SELECTION SHOOT WINS AHEAD OF ISSF World Cup

Andre Cassar won the 3rd Skeet Selection Shoot after scoring 109/125 in qualification and 51/60 in the final, sealing victory with a +4 shoot-off.

Liam Sciberras finished second, having led qualification with 111/125 before posting 51/60 in the final and settling for +3 in the shoot-off. Jamie Buttigieg placed third.

The competition marked the final selection event ahead of the ISSF World Cup, which will be held in Tangier, Morocco between 25 March and 3 April 2026. Cassar and Sciberras will represent Malta in the Skeet event.

In Trap, Gianluca Chetcuti claimed the 3rd Selection Shoot title following two days of competition at the Malta National Shooting Ranges.

James Galea Jr finished second overall, while Nico Sciberras secured third place. Chetcuti won the final with 40/50, edging Galea Jr who scored 39/50.

The six finalists had qualified with strong scores, with Nico Sciberras leading qualification on 115/125.

William Chetcuti received a three-target deduction under ISSF Rule 9.10.2.7. This event also served as the final Trap selection shoot for Tangier, with Gianluca Chetcuti, William Chetcuti and Ryan Bugeja selected to represent Malta.
