Aaron Busuttil and Chris Peplow will face each other in the semi‑finals of the Six Reds individual competition after an exceptional day for Maltese snooker at the European Snooker Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria. Both players produced flawless runs through Saturday’s knockout stages, each winning three matches to secure their place in Sunday morning’s all‑Maltese showdown.

Busuttil advanced with commanding victories: 4–0 against France’s Niel Vincent in the last 32, 4–1 over England’s Halim Hussain in the last 16, and another 4–1 win against Germany’s Simon Lichtenberg in the quarter‑finals. Peplow matched that momentum, defeating Germany’s Christian Richter 4–1, England’s Steve Crowley 4–2, and Finland’s Toni Savonen 4–1 to book his semi‑final berth.

Alex Borg also reached the last 32 but was eliminated after a 4–1 defeat to Hussain.

The Busuttil‑Peplow semi‑final will be played Sunday at 9 a.m., with the winner meeting either Germany’s Alexander Widau or Wales’ Alfie Davies in the best‑of‑nine final at 3.30 p.m. Between the semi‑finals and the final, the EBSA Shoot Out featuring 53 players, including all five Maltese competitors will be contested and concluded.
