Busuttil And Peplow Reach European Snooker Championship Final Sofia 2026

Aaron Busuttil and Chris Peplow continued their impressive run in the Men’s Team Snooker European Championship, successfully going through two crucial rounds to secure their place in the final of this year's edition.

With this result, Malta reaches the final of this competition for the third consecutive year, although the team finished as runners-up on the previous two occasions. Busuttil and Peplow were the finalists in Portugal two years ago, while Philip Ciantar and Isaac Borg lost the last year’s final in Albania. On both occasions, Malta was defeated by Ukraine.

Busuttil and Peplow forming the team Malta 1 are undoubtedly in exceptional form this year, not losing a single frame across the five matches played in the competition so far.

They began with a quarter-final victory over Poland 2 (Michał Kotiuk and Jakub Chromy), winning with frame scores of 82-44, 69-18, and 54-35. Later in the afternoon, they dominated Germany 1 (Alexander Widau and Simon Lichtenberg), winning with scores of 60-2, 85-49, and 76-16.

Busuttil and Peplow’s opponents in the final, scheduled for Thursday at 9 a.m., will be Poland 1 (Tomasz Skalski and Paweł Rogoza). The final phase of this European Snooker Championship will feature the 6 Reds and Shoot Out competitions.

A total of 76 players has registered for the 6 Reds event, which runs from Thursday to Sunday; among them are five Maltese players: Aaron Busuttil, Chris Peplow, Alex Borg, Joseph Casha, and his son, Caiden Casha.
