Brian Galea Wins Steve Azzopardi Trophy

Brian Galea won the Steve Azzopardi Trophy which was held at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.

Emanuel Bugeja finished in second place, while Rennie Deguara had to settle for third place overall.

The participants in this Trap Competition shot at 50 qualifying targets plus a final round of 25 targets from a single shot.

The six finalists qualified after strong performances in the opening round. Galea, Deguara and Abiel Cassar all topped the qualifying standings with 45 out of 50. Philip Camilleri advanced with 42, while Emanuel Bugeja and Anglu Ciappara secured the remaining places with scores of 41. Brian Galea won the trophy with the highest overall result.

In the class competitions, Rennie Deguara won Class A with a score of 45/50, finishing ahead of Brian Galea on countback, while Emanuel Bugeja placed third with 41.

Abiel Cassar claimed top honours in Class B after posting an impressive 45/50, followed by Philip Camilleri on 42 and Anglu Ciappara on 41.

Class C was won by Emanuel Bugeja with 38/50, while Joseph Mallia and Carmel Grech shared second and third places respectively after both scored 37/50.

The next competition is the MSSF Trap Competition 50+50+25(T3) which will be held on Sunday 19 July at the Southern Shooting Club Range.
