Brian Cini makes history with Malta’s first competitive 147 break

Brian Cini wrote his name into Maltese snooker history after producing the first officially recorded maximum 147 break in a local competition during the CE Installations Premier League National Snooker Championship.
The remarkable achievement came during his 4-1 victory over Ivan Attard at the Snooker Academy in Ħamrun, with Cini completing the historic break in the fifth and final frame of the encounter.
Cini had already demonstrated excellent form earlier in the match, compiling impressive breaks of 70 and 86 before delivering the perfect clearance of 147 points.
The final frame, which ended 147-0, will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most significant moments in the history of the Ħamrun venue.
Achieving a maximum break is among snooker's greatest accomplishments, requiring exceptional precision, concentration and consistency.
Cini's outstanding performance represents a landmark moment for Maltese snooker and a memorable milestone for the Malta Billiards & Snooker Association, further highlighting the standard of local talent.
