BOV National Cup Draw Sets Stage for a Competitive 2026/27 Campaign

The draw for the 2026/27 BOV National Cup was held on Friday, 18 September at the National Football Centre in Ta’ Qali, mapping out a compelling route to next April’s Final. The competition, formerly the BOV Amateur Cup, brings together 31 teams from the BOV National Leagues 1 and 2, along with sides from the Gozo Football League Second Division, creating a diverse and unpredictable field.
Conducted by Malta FA Competitions Manager Stewart Said, the draw confirmed a packed schedule. The Last 32 ties will be played between 2–4 October, followed by the Last 16 on 23–25 October. The Quarter‑Finals are set for 17–18 November, with the Semi‑Finals scheduled for 9–10 March 2027. The journey culminates in the Final on 18 April 2027 at the National Stadium.
Several fixtures immediately stood out. Gozo’s St Lawrence Spurs FC will take on Rabat Ajax FC, while Mellieħa SC face Pembroke Athleta SC in another balanced matchup. Holders Qormi FC begin their title defence against Kirkop United, adding early intrigue to a competition known for surprises.
