Birżebbuġa Sailing Club to host 6th International Regatta

Birżebbuġa Sailing Club Freeport, in collaboration with Yachting Malta, will host the 6th edition of its International Regatta from Saturday, 7th February, to Tuesday, 10th February.

Since its debut in 2021, the Yachting Malta BSC International Regatta has become a key winter fixture on the Mediterranean sailing calendar.

This year’s event will feature a strong international presence, with sailors from the USA, Argentina, Ireland, Sweden, Hungary, Lithuania, and Bulgaria joining a large local fleet representing all Maltese sailing clubs. In total, over 100 sailors are expected to take part.

Organised with the support of Yachting Malta as main sponsor, the regatta is also backed by Visit Malta, the Birżebbuġa Local Council, SportMalta, and RLR Yachting Malta.

Race courses will be set within Marsaxlokk Bay and surrounding coastal waters, renowned for providing some of Malta’s most technical sailing conditions.

Up to 12 races are scheduled over the four days, making this regatta a key event for national team selection ahead of the World and European Championships, as well as the Mediterranean Games later this year.
