Birkirkara Target Top-Six Spot Against Improving Birżebbuġa
Local
Birkirkara face Birżebbuġa St Peter’s this afternoon at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, with valuable points at stake in the Malta Premier League.
The Stripes enter the encounter sixth on 14 points, level with Mosta and just one ahead of Hibernians, as the battle for Top Six qualification intensifies.
Birkirkara returned to winning ways last weekend, defeating Balzan 2-0 thanks to two penalties from Franklin Sasere, ending a three-match winless run.
Birżebbuġa, meanwhile, have shown encouraging improvement despite occupying bottom place with five points.
The newly promoted side stunned Marsaxlokk 2-0 before holding Gżira United to a 2-2 draw, collecting four points from their last two outings.
