Balzan Coach Andrew Cohen Reflects On Promotion To Maltese Premier League

Balzan FC coach Andrew Cohen has reflected on a major milestone after guiding the club back to the Maltese Premier League as Challenge League champions.
In a heartfelt social media post, Cohen described the achievement as his first honour as a coach, expressing gratitude for the journey. He thanked God for strength and guidance, as well as his family for their constant support throughout the season.
Cohen also showed appreciation to club president Anton Tagliaferro, the committee members, and the entire staff for their trust and hard work. He gave special mention to his assistant Bojan Kaljevic and staff member Anthony Lanzon for their contributions behind the scenes.
However, he made it clear that the players were the key to success, praising their performances, unity, and mentality both on and off the pitch. He also acknowledged the fans, who supported the team every step of the way.
The promotion marks an immediate return to the top flight for Balzan after last season’s shock relegation.
A respected figure in Maltese football, Cohen spent most of his playing career with Hibernians before finishing at Gżira United. He later managed Gżira in 2024, gaining experience that has now led to this achievement with Balzan.
