MALTA FALL SHORT AGAINST AUSTRALIA IN WORLD CUP DIVISION 2 OPENER

Local
Malta suffered a defeat to Australia in their opening match of the World Cup Division 2 league phase, which is currently being hosted locally.
The game remained tightly contested across all four quarters, with Australia gaining a slight edge in the first half before extending their lead further during the third quarter.
Malta mounted a strong comeback in the final quarter, narrowly outperforming the Australians 4–3, but it wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit, with the match ending 15–12 in Australia’s favour.
The Maltese side will now turn their attention to their remaining fixtures, facing Kazakhstan later today before concluding the league phase against Romania on Thursday.
