Attard Edex Kings Secure Promotion After Dominant First‑Round Campaign

Attard Edex Kings have earned a well‑deserved promotion to the MAFA First Division after an outstanding opening round in the Second Division championship. Led by Elliott Navarro, the team proved to be the most consistent and disciplined side of the campaign, collecting an impressive 22 points from eight matches. Their record seven victories and one draw placed them comfortably at the top of the standings and ensured early promotion.
Gudja Wanderers finished the round in second place with 16 points, narrowly edging Swieqi United AFC, who closed with 15. The withdrawal of St Paul’s Bay NMFC prompted the Malta Amateur Football Association to revise the competition structure. As a result, all teams will now begin the second round with zero points, creating a level playing field for the remaining eight matches.
The winner of this closing round will earn the right to face Attard Edex Kings in a decisive final to determine the overall league champions. The second round is set to kick off on 28 February, with fixtures scheduled at the Marsaxlokk and Qormi grounds.
