Athletics Malta has announced the launch of its first-ever Youth National Team Training Camp, set to take place on the 7th and 8th of April, marking a significant forward in the development of young athletes in Malta.

This new initiative aims to create a high-performance environment for some of the country’s most promising talents, offering them structured training and professional guidance across key disciplines. The camp will focus on throws, hurdles, middle-distance events for boys, and sprints.

A team of experienced Italian coaches will be joining the programme, including Antonio Laguardia specialising in sprints and jumps, Giorgio Ripamonte for hurdles, Claudia Coslovich for throws, and Olympic medallist Nicola Vizzoni, who will also focus on throws.

Participants will be accommodated at the Mediterranean College of Sport, with the full programme coordinated by Athletics Malta. In addition to training sessions, athletes will also take part in educational workshops delivered by Authority for Integrity in Maltese Sport, adding an important learning component to the experience.

The camp will conclude on the 8th of April at the Marsa Athletics Track, bringing together a comprehensive programme designed to nurture the next generation of Maltese athletes.

This initiative represents a major step forward in strengthening Malta’s athletics pathway and investing in the future of the sport.
