Armed Forces Of Malta And United States Embassy In Malta Host 5-a-Side Football Tournament

Last Monday, the Armed Forces of Malta and the United States Embassy in Malta hosted a 5-a-Side Football Tournament at the Safi Barracks football ground, bringing together teams from Malta’s disciplined forces and the U.S. Embassy.

The tournament featured two teams from the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM), alongside teams representing the Correctional Services Agency (CSA), the Malta Police Force (MPF), the Civil Protection Department (CPD), and the Embassy of the United States of America in Malta.

The event was attended by Brigadier Clinton J. O’Neill, Commander of the Armed Forces of Malta, and Her Excellency Ambassador Somers Farkas, who officially opened the tournament with a ceremonial first kick.

Beyond the spirit of friendly competition, the tournament provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen teamwork, foster camaraderie, and further reinforce the close professional relationships shared among the participating organisations.
