Ħamrun Spartans are gearing up for a crucial UEFA Conference League encounter against Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps at the National Stadium on Thursday. After three consecutive defeats in the group stage, the Spartans are determined to secure their first points in the competition.

Head coach Giacomo Modica described the match as the most important fixture for his team in this campaign. “I am pleased to say that I have a full squad available,” Modica stated. “We have been preparing since Sunday, and the players are fully focused on delivering their best performance.”

Despite Lincoln being perceived as a weaker side, Modica warned against complacency. “They already have four points against strong opponents, so we cannot underestimate them,” he said. Reflecting on previous encounters, Modica noted that Lincoln eliminated Ħamrun from the Champions League qualifiers last season, but stressed that both teams have evolved since then.

“Our goal is clear: to show that Ħamrun Spartans are here to compete, not just participate,” Modica affirmed. “I expect my players to fight for the badge and demonstrate their true value.”
