Freddie Mizzi, 'il-Pampalun,' has been inducted into the Malta FA Hall of Fame.
At 85, Freddie remains one of the greatest names in Maltese football history and one of the finest goalkeepers our country has ever produced. He began his career with Melita at just 13, before lifting the league title with Floriana and going on to spend 20 legendary years at Hibernians, winning 3 league titles, 3 FA Trophies, the Sons of Malta Cup, and 2 Independence Cups.
He kept clean sheets against Manchester United and Real Madrid in European competition, debuted for Malta at 19 in a 1-0 win over Tunisia, and produced an unforgettable display against England in 1971.
