The 2026 Agones SFC Duathlon launched Malta’s multisport calendar with remarkable momentum, drawing an unprecedented number of athletes and supporters to Safi and Kirkop. Ideal racing conditions set the stage for a fiercely competitive run–bike–run showdown, where both seasoned competitors and rising talents delivered standout performances.

From the opening strides, the pace was relentless. Elite athletes quickly formed a tight lead pack, pushing one another through every segment of the course. Spectators lined the route, creating an energizing atmosphere that fueled athletes toward personal bests and memorable finishes. The event’s smooth execution thanks to dedicated volunteers, race officials, and local authorities reinforced Agones SFC’s reputation for hosting high‑quality endurance events.

Race Director Warren Muscat praised the growing strength of the local multisport community, noting the impressive turnout across all age groups and abilities. This year’s edition highlighted not only athletic excellence but also inclusivity and sportsmanship, hallmarks of the Agones SFC ethos.

In the men’s overall category, Liam Daly of Shamrock Stars claimed the top spot, followed closely by Agones SFC’s own Kai Azzopardi, with Keith Galea securing third for Shamrock Stars. With planning already underway for 2027, the duathlon’s future looks brighter and faster than ever.
