12 Finalists Set To Battle For Prestigious 26th EquestriMalta President’s Cup

The 26th edition of the EquestriMalta President’s Cup will take place at the Malta Equidrome on Sunday, November 8, at 4.25pm, bringing together 12 of Malta’s leading Premier category trotting horses.

First introduced in 1992, the prestigious championship reaches its sixth consecutive edition under EquestriMalta’s sponsorship, with a record prize fund of €12,500, including €6,000 for the winner. DJ SPRITZ claimed victory in the previous final, held in March 2026 after being postponed due to racetrack upgrading works.

The final’s details were announced during a press conference attended by representatives of EquestriMalta, Malta Equidrome and the Malta Racing Club. EquestriMalta Chairperson Dr Dean Hili also announced a three-year collaboration agreement with Malta Equidrome to support the championship’s continued development.

The event will be held under the patronage of President of Malta Myriam Spiteri Debono, with proceeds connected to the philanthropic mission of the Malta Community Chest Fund. Organisers have also planned family-friendly activities, including a children’s play area and an after-party.

The starting positions have been confirmed following the official draw, with the semi-final winners receiving first choice according to their winning times.

In My Way Damgard will start from pole position, followed by Falko de Nouville in second and Hermes Express in third. The remaining positions are occupied by Forrest Gump Set, Farmer Keryvon, Urban Africa, Velvet Gio, Enjoy The Game, Bordeaux S, Fameux Sax, Idem Jihem and Kool des Champs.

With twelve finalists competing for one of Maltese trotting’s most coveted titles, anticipation is building for an exciting afternoon at the Malta Equidrome.
