Beloved fried chicken haven SFC are bringing their lip-licking flavour to the North of Malta as they have now opened a Southern Fried Chicken spot in Triq it-Turisti, Qawra.

This is SFC’s sixth outlet since they first opened in Malta, together with their locations in Zabbar, Birkirkara, Qormi, Mosta and Mgarr in Gozo. Of course, it comes as no surprise that the beloved outlet continues to set up shop with its lip-licking meals across Malta & Gozo. Whether it’s their best-selling Empire Sandwich, the chicken pieces with signature SFC breading, hot and flakey wings, or their Piri Piri options, there’s something about SFC that just screams comfort food and we can’t get enough.

An international franchise turned local legend, SFC has been around to offer their top-quality products for as long as we can remember and now, the good people in Qawra and its surroundings will be able to indulge on some fried chicken goodness thanks to their brand new Triq it-Turisti outlet.

So if you’re reading this, alert the squad and let them know that SFC is now open in Qawra and whatever you do, don’t forget to add some mozzarella sticks and potato wedges to your order!

Send this to someone who loves fried chicken.

Jan 30 2023 Share

Speaking to Malta Daily, one of Pelin Kaya’s family members stated that the young woman came to Malta because she was told “Malta is a peaceful place, especially for women. So she decided to continue her career in Malta.”

The woman’s grieving family has stated that they expect justice from Malta’s courts, and that “Mothers should not cry again because of these issues.”

Earlier today, Pelin’s mother, older sister, uncle, cousins and some friends visited the Gzira crime scene, with members of the Turkish national press accompanying.

Pelin was given a prayer service at the Paola Mosque on Saturday, with members of the Turkish community gathering together to recite prayers and verses of the Holy Quran in honour of the victim.

Kaya was killed by a cocaine intoxicated Jeremie Camilleri, who drove his car into her and subsequently a KFC outlet in Gżira. After an altercation with police, Camilleri was arraigned in court but plead not guilty to the murder.

Busy weekend of road inspections despite stormy weather

Busy weekend of road inspections despite stormy weather
Jan 30 2023 Share

Despite the intense stormy weather, Transport Malta took to Malta’s roads to conduct further inspections as many grow concerned about an increase in road accidents.

Transport Malta revealed that they held another roadside inspection with the Malta Police Force, during which 280 cars were inspected. This led to 86 vehicles being stopped for various road rule breaches.

The Maltese government and respective authorities seemed to have stepped up their vigilance on the roads given the increase in road accidents, which led to various injuries and even fatalities.

Just in 2022’s third quarter, 4062 traffic incidents were reported. This is up 2.1% over the same period of the previous year. The traffic accident reports of 2023’s first quarter are yet to be revealed, given that we are still in January.

However, many accidents reported indicate that the trend could still be ongoing, leading to further road inspections by authorities.
