With the festive season just around the corner, here are some of the many Christmas festivities set to take place around Malta.
Marsaskala will host a weekend of Christmas cheer from the 13th to the 15th of December at St. Anne’s Garden, featuring entertainment, food, music, and various stalls.
The Paola Christmas Village kicks off on Thursday, the 12th of December, with live performances from local acts, including DJ Pierre Cordina, Glenn Vella, Kantera, Future Voices, Women in Rock, DJ Sue, and La Voix Harmonies & Friends.
On Friday, the 13th of December, ‘Joy to the World’ will light up Nadur Square from 5 PM onwards with activities such as photos with Santa, Christmas-themed games, decorations, and live entertainment.
The beloved ‘Betlehem f’Ghajnsielem’ returns, offering Maltese families a chance to experience a reenactment of the birthplace of Jesus Christ.
Għarb will celebrate Christmas with multiple events in its piazza, including performances by Skald, Rebecca & Band, and DJ Sue. Other highlights include a talent night and a hot dog eating competition.
In Santa Luċija, Christmas festivities run through to the 23rd of December, featuring a pet day, a Christmas concert, and a children’s party.
Bubaqra, organized by the Żurrieq Local Council, will also host Christmas activities on the 12th of December.
Qala square will be busy with several Christmas activities from the 13th to the 15th of December, with live bands and Christmas markets filling the square.
Santa Venera will also be hosting a ‘Betlehem’ reenactment, closer to home for most Maltese people wanting to visit.
The 13th of December will see Marsa celebrating Christmas in style with several local music acts, food and entertainment all present.
Lija will be hosting their traditonal Christmas market, on the 13th and 14th of December between 10 am and 7 pm.
These events have been made possible through a Gvern Lokali scheme, with each locality bringing its unique touch to the festive season.
