The works are being carried out by the Housing Authority in collaboration with Housing Projects Solutions Limited and are designed not only to regenerate the buildings but also to transform the area’s aesthetic environment.
During his visit, Minister Galdes emphasised that the Ħal Tarxien project is not a one-off initiative but part of a series of projects across various localities aimed at giving a new lease of life to social housing in Malta.
“The primary goal of this regeneration is to improve residents’ quality of life and raise the standard of the areas where these projects are taking place. At the same time, we are addressing the challenges that arise in a dynamic housing market,” stated Minister Galdes.
He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to combining quality of life for residents with the sustainability of their living environment. “We are committed to continuing work towards dignified housing and high-quality social housing environments that respect the dignity of residents,” Minister Galdes concluded.
Similar regeneration projects have also been carried out in Gudja, Mosta, Santa Luċija, Marsa, Fgura, Ta’ Giorni, Żejtun, and Ħamrun.
