Shiva Gives Final Farewell To Owner Christian Vella Of Caritas Malta

The funeral of Christian Vella, a much-loved Caritas Malta colleague, took place this morning. Friends, family, and colleagues gathered to pay their respects to a man renowned for his selfless dedication to helping those struggling with addiction. Christian was remembered as a true role model and a pillar of support within the community.

Among those present was his faithful dog, Shiva, who stayed close throughout the service, offering a quiet and touching reminder of the strong bond they shared.

A website was set up to stream the funeral live and allow people to leave their condolences, with many taking the opportunity to share heartfelt messages.

The website also shared a heartfelt tribute, reading: “In loving memory of Christian Vella (il-Fulu), who went to meet the Lord, together with his sister Josianne and his nephew Gianluca, on 6 August 2025 at the age of 39. Never forgotten by his wife Tracy, his children Elljay and Mason, Naomi and her husband Shaun, their children Giulia and Soleil, his father Joe and mother Emanuela, grandmother Salvina, all of his wife’s family, aunts and cousins, the Caritas Malta community, and many relatives and friends. Grant him, O Lord, eternal rest.”
