Sex Education's Emma Mackey leaving after season 4
Feb 22 2023 Share

As reported by Deadline, Emma Mackey, who plays one of the main characters on Netflix show Sex Education, will be leaving after the 4th season of the show.

When asked about what is in store for her character Maeve in future seasons, the actor told RadioTimes that she is ready to bid farewell to her character.

‘Season 5? I’ve just finished the fourth one last week! No, I don’t think I’ll be in season 5. I’ve said goodbye to Maeve’ she said.

With Mackey having a less prominent role in the fourth season, she will be following in the footsteps off Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Otis’ best friend Eric.

Ncuti will also be leaving after season 4 as he Weill make history as the 15th Doctor in the 60th anniversary season of BBC’s Doctor Who, whilst also appearing in the Barbie movie.

Prior to season 4, Tanya Richards (Lily) and Patricia Allison (Ola) also left the series, accompanied by Bridgerton star Simone Ashley who played Olivia.

Despite this seeming as a massive lost, it is quite common with big ensemble casts set in high school settings. This could open the door to fresh new arrivals for the show, as was already hinted by casting news.

4 day work week to remain in place after success in UK companies

4 day work week to remain in place after success in UK companies
Feb 21 2023 Share

Around 3,000 workers are set to continue working under the four day work week after a six month trial of the work schedule proved successful in the UK.

The organisations involved included recruitment firms, a brewery, a fish and chip shop and a software developers’ business.

They were all guided by the non-profit 4 Day Week Global, the UK’s 4 Day Week Campaign and think tank Autonomy. The workers had their days reduced from June to December with no loss off pay to see whether this would prove a better way of working.

Taking to Twitter, 4 Day Week Campaign wrote how the new format works, saying that 92% of companies will keep it.

Burn out reportedly decreased by 71%, sick days down by 65% and revenue up 1.4% on average. ‘No question about it – the UK’s 4 day week trial was a huge success.’

Only 4% off participants decided that they will definitely not continue the 4 day work week, with companies involved in the trial rating the overall experience an average of 8.5 out of 10.
