Sergi Roberto broke into tears in the changing room following Bayern game

Sep 17 2021 Share

Barcelona were brutally defeated by three Bayern goals in the Camp Nou last Tuesday  as they opened their Champions League campaign.  A good performance was rare from the Barca team that night, but there were some players who stood out for all the wrong reasons with Sergi Roberto being one of them.

Sergi Roberto was subbed off in the 59th minute to a crowd of boos and jeers. The player didn’t have the best of nights, having had to defend against Leroy Sane and Alphonso Davies. The fans’ reaction towards his performance led him to cry in the changing room after the match. Fellow Catalan and Barcelona captain Gerrard Pique defended his teammate after the match saying  “It hurts me a lot personally because I know this person, he’s a spectacular human being and he loves this club more than anybody.” and  “I’d like to remind people also that he’s not a full-back… he’s a central player, a midfielder. He’s made a sacrifice to play this position and he’s done it phenomenally many times.”

The final episode of the final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine has officially aired, titled ‘The Last Day.’ The series quickly became a fan favourite after the cast’s bubbly and entertaining personalities captured the hearts of many viewers. The cop centred comedy survived cancellation back in 2018, with NBC giving it an extra three seasons. But the curtains have finally closed for Jake Peralta and the nine-nine gang as the actors share their farewells all over social media.

All cast members personalised a good-bye message which was then posted to Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s official Instagram page. Rotten Tomatoes’ current rating for the final season is a perfect 100% score – no small feat for any sitcom. Writers also allegedly threw out scripts for season 8 following the Black Lives Matter resurgence following George Floyd’s murder. This earned the show a critical consensus of being able to ‘tackle big topics with poise.’

Debrii’s newest track ‘Wassup’ celebrates the return of standing events

Debrii’s newest track ‘Wassup’ celebrates the return of standing events

DJ and Producer Daniel Briffa, a.k.a Debrii, has released his newest track ‘Wassup’ and it’s an absolute banger. Featuring his own original vocals, the single hit our streaming platforms at just the right time to celebrate the return of dancing and standing events in Malta.

‘Wassup’ is Debrii’s first official track for the year 2021 – a year characterised by missing parties and longing for that opportunity to bust a move with your mates. Debrii’s previous and hilarious Simpatici remix went on to garner well over 80K views on social media platform TikTok. Debrii is now aiming to push ‘Wassup’ to that same level and beyond.

And ‘Wassup’ definitely deserves such reception. We can’t wait to hear it and, finally, move to it when we return to our favourite party spots!

Italy to require COVID-19 passes for all workers as of 15 October

Italy to require COVID-19 passes for all workers as of 15 October
Sep 17 2021 Share

Under a decree adopted by Prime Minister Mario Draghi’s government, Italian workers in both public and private sectors will have to display a health pass to access their work place.  This is the first instance in which a major European economy adopts such measures, including a recent negative virus test or recovery from COVID-19 in the previous six months for all workers. Health Minister Roberto Speranza described the green pass as an instrument of freedom which will make workplaces safer.

The measures will also, as Italian authorities are hoping, encourage the vaccine campaign. Italy’s 2 trillion Euro economy is the third largest in the European Union and the measure underscores the determination by the government to avoid another lockdown. This comes as the number of cases seems to be shooting up, mostly among the unvaccinated.

Workers face fines of up to €1,500 and employers up to €1000 if they do not comply with these regulations. Public sector employees may even risk suspension if they rack up five absences of a Green Pass. Private sector workers can be suspended after their first failure to do so. These measures will remain in effect as long as Italy is in a state of emergency (with this forecasted to last until December 31st).

Italy surpassed the amount of 80% of eligible population having received at least one dose of the vaccine this month. Three quarters of the population, some 40.5 million people, have been fully inoculated. The Green Pass requirement covers 14.7 million private sector workers and 3.2 million in state-supported jobs.
