Senglea Regatta 2025 Champions Celebrate Victory Day

Yesterday, Senglea Regatta Club was awash with jubilation as the community gathered to celebrate a historic triumph in the Victory Day Regatta.

After a 13-year wait, Senglea’s rowers claimed the coveted title, completing a clean sweep by winning the Open, ‘B’ category, and women’s races.

Supporters lined the waterfront, waving flags and singing traditional songs, their pride evident after years of near-misses and heartbreak.

The celebrations were particularly sweet following Senglea’s recent disappointment in the Freedom Day Regatta, making this victory even more special.

The regatta, a cherished Maltese tradition, saw Senglea’s athletes praised for their resilience and teamwork, overcoming delays and challenging conditions to secure their 24th national title.
