Scenes From Senglea’s Celebrations After Victory Day Regatta

Yesterday, Senglea Regatta Club was awash with jubilation as the community gathered to celebrate a historic triumph in the Victory Day Regatta.

After a 13-year wait, Senglea’s rowers clinched the coveted title, completing a clean sweep by winning the Open, ‘B’ category, and women’s races.

Supporters and club members filled the waterfront, waving flags and singing traditional songs, their pride evident after years of near-misses and heartbreak.

The celebrations were especially poignant given Senglea’s recent disappointment in the Freedom Day Regatta, making this victory even sweeter.

The regatta, a cherished Maltese tradition, saw Senglea’s athletes praised for their resilience and teamwork, overcoming delays and challenging conditions to secure their 24th title.
