Salvu, Comino’s Last Resident, Gets ID Updated Right In Comino

Salvu, a lifelong resident of Comino, received an unusual home visit this week; a team from the Identity Card Section in Gozo travelled all the way to Comino to help him renew his identity card right on the island.

Known as the last remaining inhabitant of Comino, Salvu has spent his entire life surrounded by the island’s natural beauty, but he’s anything but disconnected from the modern world.A true innovator at heart, Salvu spends much of his time flying drones and experimenting with new technologies.

He has even built his own remote-controlled boat launcher, harnesses solar power to charge his go-kart, and converted his diesel-powered ATV into a fully electric vehicle.

The visit was made possible thanks to the collaboration and logistical support of the Armed Forces of Malta, who ensured the Identity Malta team could reach Comino safely to deliver this essential service.

Identità Malta shared the occassion on their Facebook, stating “We are with you in every step of your life, everywhere!”

This special visit highlights Identity Malta’s commitment to making its services accessible to every citizen,no matter how remote their home may be.
