Russian priest arrested for urging children to commit suicide

A COVID-denying Russian priest has been arrested following the raid of a convent after encouraging children to commit suicide.

Nikolai Romanov, otherwise known as Father Sergiy had previously made the headlines for denying the existence of COVID-19 and disputing the closure of churches due to lockdown.

The priest was arrested at a monastery after being cast out from the church following his criticism of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Italian tenor legend to present Malta-inspired concert on TVM

A few months ago, Andrea Bocelli was spotted in Malta with fellow tenor Joseph Calleja for some mysterious reason, the reason for which has finally been unveiled.

It has been revealed that Bocelli will present a Malta-inspired production based on his latest album “Believe”, parts of which include segments at St. John’s Cathedral and St. Elmo.

The 50-minute production will go live on TVM at 9PM on Thursday and will be streamed on Andrea Bocelli’s YouTube channel, amongst many other TV stations around the world.

Gudja United FC suspends training following surge in COVID-19 cases

Gudja United FC have taken to Facebook to announce the immediate suspension of any training session after a surge in COVID-19 amongst players.

The team reported that the cases emerged 5 days after suspension and the club has taken all necessary measures, including fumigation of the premises and is in constant contact with the MFA.

Stadiums can soon open their doors: Clifton Grima reacts to arrival of COVID-19 vaccine

In his first reaction interview with Malta Daily, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Sport and Voluntary Organisations Clifton Grima expressed his happiness with the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine, a tool with which we can finally battle the pandemic.

Grima also touched upon a topic close to his heart, sport, where he addressed the difficulty in having stadiums not able to open their doors to their supporters, reporting that he has been in talks with the relevant authorities on the issue.

The Parliamentary Secretary went on to state that if having the necessary respect to health and safety measures and enough space for each individual, one can start looking at the gradual return of the sports scene in Malta.
