Robert Abela Inaugurates Maltese Owned Restaurant In Central London

Prime Minister Robert Abela has inaugurated the opening of Aki London, a new Maltese restaurant in the heart of the UK capital, marking another milestone for Malta’s hospitality sector.
Located at One Cavendish Square, Aki London follows the success of its first outlet in Valletta. Speaking at the inauguration, Robert Abela said the investment by DB Group reflects Malta’s strong economy and the entrepreneurial spirit driving local businesses.
“The opening of this restaurant in central London shows that Maltese companies are confident, ambitious and ready to compete globally. This is thanks to a solid economic base, combined with innovation and the courage of our people to keep investing,” Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister added that the venture highlights the growing strength of Malta’s culinary scene, which has earned international recognition.
He noted that Malta now boasts six one-star Michelin restaurants, one with two stars, and 31 others recommended by the guide.
Robert Abela underlined that the continued growth of the hospitality sector will help attract quality tourism in line with the government’s long-term vision.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also toured the Malta Tourism Authority’s London offices and met Maltese diplomats at the High Commission.
