The two rivalling Libyan factions have signed a permanent deal to cease fire after years of war.
In a deal mediated by the United Nations, the two factions are to engage in discussion to find a solution to the post-2011 chaos following the toppling of the uprising and death of Moammar Gadhafi.
It is unclear as to how the cease-fire will come into effect but the respective military units will return to their camps in what is “a moment that will go down in history” according to U.N envoy for Libya, Stephanie Turco Williams.
