The Rabat Local Council building, Dar ir-Rabtin, has been officially inaugurated following an extensive €1 million restoration project.

Located in the heart of the locality, the building has been upgraded to better serve the needs of Rabat’s community of over 6,000 residents. It will be used for council operations and as a hub for social and educational initiatives.

Prime Minister Robert Abela, present at the inauguration, highlighted the importance of investing in projects that enhance services for residents.

He noted the role of local councils in addressing community needs and emphasized the importance of collaboration between councils and the government. Referring to local councils as “key collaborators,” the Prime Minister called for continued efforts to create more inclusive and sustainable communities.

Minister for National Heritage, Arts, and Local Government Owen Bonnici stated that the modernized building would improve accessibility and provide effective services to residents.

Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli acknowledged the importance of local councils as the first point of contact for citizens, praising their efforts in meeting the needs of families.

Rabat Mayor Sandro Craus stressed the value of ongoing projects in infrastructure, education, and social services, aiming to deliver further benefits to the community.
