Sky Sports have reported that Real Madrid presented the offer to PSG on Sunday and are yet to receive an answer. Other reports have said that PSG will rather keep him this year and lose him for free, as they do not need the money. It is being said that PSG have already held talks with the agents of their preferred replacement, Robert Lewandowski.

This is supposed to be Kylian Mbappe’s dream move, so a transfer to Real Madrid will always be in the news considering he is one of the worlds best and most notorious player.

UK McDonald’s restaurants have run out of milkshakes

UK McDonald’s restaurants have run out of milkshakes
Aug 25 2021 Share

It’s a renowned joke, and somewhat of a curse, that McDonald’s ice cream machines never work. Well, around 1,300 McDonald’s fast food outlets in the UK have upped this standard as  they had to stop selling milkshakes and bottled drinks. This is mainly due to Brexit-related staff shortages and supply chain delays caused mainly by the COVID-19 pandemic which continues to have a negative impact on businesses.

A spokesperson for the fast food giant stated on Tuesday that like most retailers, supply chain issues are being experienced on a number of small products. ‘Bottled drinks and milkshakes are temporarily unavailable in restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales. Nando’s also closed 45 of its UK restaurants last week due to a peri peri chicken shortage. These shortages show the toll the pandemic has had, not just in terms of lives lost, but also of how it shaped, quite negatively, all other domains of life.

Italian side Chievo Verona cease to exist

Aug 25 2021 Share

Yesterday, local authorities in Verona announced that the club failed to meet Serie D’s registration deadline.  Club captain Sergio Pellissier also announced this news on his Instagram saying “Unfortunately, the story of that club that has given me so much has ended today.” He also stated that “Today is one of the saddest days of my life”

Chievo Verona, as of 2019, were a Serie A club. They were  promoted for the first time to Serie A in 2001 and from there spent 19 seasons in the top division, even though they had one of the smallest budgets possible. In 2005/2006 they even managed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League after Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio and Juventus all lost positions after cheating.

The club finished this year in 8th place in Italy’s second division Serie B. After learning the news of the clubs financial problems, captain Sergio Pellissier led a search for owners to invest in a phoenix club using Chievo’s name. The search ultimately failed, with the club now having the opportunity to start up again in the Veneto amateur leagues.

Facebook taken by storm after alleged Holy Mary apparition in Bormla fountain

Facebook taken by storm after alleged Holy Mary apparition in Bormla fountain
Aug 25 2021 Share

Maltese Facebook was taken by storm after a photo of what seems to be an apparition of Holy Mary within a water sprout in Bormla was uploaded. The photo was uploaded by Josef Grech, asking everyone to share the photo as he had seen the apparition with his own eyes.

The photos were taken at around 3 am in Bormla, showing what seems to be a veiled figure within a beam of light in a fountain water sprout. The post garnered hundreds of shares, likes and even comments, some amazed by the apparition with others not so much.

The photo was promptly shared by the likes of Terry ta’ Bormla, who, like many others, took the opportunity to write down prayers in association with the alleged apparition. Others were not so convinced, pointing out how people were seeing what they wanted to see and that the apparition was nothing more than just a coincidence or illusion. What do you think it was?
