It’s not everyday that you get to see everyone’s favourite cartoon characters in real life but a marine scientist managed to spot a very sharp resemblance of SpongeBob and Patrick during his explorations.
While conducting underwater research in the Atalantic, marine scientist and starfish expert Christopher Mah spotted a sea sponge and sea star in very close proximity of one another on the side of an Atlantic underwater mountain called Retriever seamount and immediately took to Twitter to share the hilarious sighting.

The scientist shared a curious snap of the two sea creatures which resemble Nickelodeon’s star players during his NOAA Ocean Exploration new deep-sea plan and stated that he thought it would be funny to make such a comparison due to the fact that most depictions of ‘real-life’ SpongeBob and Patrick are often incorrect.
